The Society is delighted to announce a special issue of Eighteenth-Century Ireland: Iris an dá chultúr, entitled New Perspectives on the Penal Laws, which was officially launched at the annual conference in Trim in July 2011. This new venture by the Society features some of the best papers from the special conference on the penal laws held in UCD in September 2009. The cost for members is €15.00 / £13.00 / $20.00 (inclusive of postage and packaging) and a flyer/order form is available here.
ASECS Irish-American Research Travel Fellowship

2011
The 2011 Annual Conference was held in association with the Trim Swift Festival, which each year celebrates the life, work and legacy of Jonathan Swift and his close association with the town of Trim. A copy of the programme is available here.
2010
The Society’s Annual Conference was held at the University of Limerick on 25-26 June 2010, andincorporated the third in a series of conferences organised in conjunction with the British Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies and La Société Française d’Étude du Dix-huitième siècle on the theme ofCultural transfers and the circulation of knowledge between France, Great Britain and Ireland. 2009
The 2009 Annual Conference was held on 4-6 September at University College, Dublin.

2005
2005 was the bicentenary of the death of the celebrated North Munster poet Brian Merriman (1749-1805), author of Cúirt an Mhean-Oíche (The Midnight Court). To mark the occasion, the Eighteenth Century Ireland Society Annual Conference was organised in association with Cumann Merriman and held on 9-12 June at the University of Limerick. 2004
The 2004 Annual Conference, on the theme of Ireland and Scotland: Conjoined Histories, was organised jointly with the Eighteenth-Century Scottish Studies Society and held on 17-20 June at the Centre for Irish-Scottish Studies, Trinity College, Dublin. A copy of the programme is available here.
In February 2004, the Society also successfully hosted its second one-day conference at Mary Immaculate College, Limerick on the fortunes of the Irish language in the long eighteenth century (fógracomhdhála ar fáil anseo).
2003
The 2003 Annual Conference, on the theme of Religious and Political Identity in Eighteenth-Century Ireland, was held on 2-4 May at Trinity College, Dublin and Dublin City Public Libraries. A copy of the programme is available here.
2002
In 2002, in addition to its Annual Conference at NUI Maynooth (programme available here), the Society hosted a one-day conference at Mary Immaculate College, Limerick on the fortunes of the Irish language in the long eighteenth century (tá clár na comhdhála ar fáil anseo).
